What percentage teenage mothers drop out of school?

Im doing a project on teen pregnancy,

I need to know the percentages of teenage mothers who drop out of school. Anyone know? What percentage teenage mothers drop out of school?
Only 40 percent of teenagers who have children before age 18 go on to graduate from high school, compared to 75 percent of teens from similar social and economic backgrounds who do not give birth until ages 20 or 21

About 64 percent of children born to an unmarried teenage high-school dropout live in poverty, compared to 7 percent of children born to women over age 20 who are married and high school graduates (2). A child born to a teenage mother is 50 percent more likely to repeat a grade in school and is more likely to perform poorly on standardized tests and drop out before finishing high school

The exact percentages actually differ from place to place. Where I went to high school, I only knew of a few drop outs, who were not pregnant.

I guess my cousins are part of the '; percentage'; of teen pregnancies drop outs. They were 15 and 17 when they had their first child but they had dropped out of High School way before they were pregnant. In fact the 17 year old hadn't even finished middle school. Now one is 28 and the other 24. The 28 has finally gotten her GED and went on to college. She's slowly making a career. Her sister has done nothing to better herself.

By time she was 18, the 15 year old had another baby and another on the way.

I suggest you to google your area's teen pregancy drop out rates so it would be more accurate.

Just to say, not all teen mothers drop out of high school. Some do go on and get an HS diploma and even collge. It depends on alot of factors really. What percentage teenage mothers drop out of school?
Well i can disagree with alot of these, but yeah alot of highschool teenage mothers/pregnant teenage mothers are dropping out. I got pregnant at the age of 15, in 10th grade, and im now in 11th grade and my daughter is six months old today. i want my education so im gnna finish. try google!

You would have to search state by state and income bracket by income bracket, both of these factors would have a major effect on the number. I would have to say it is in the high 80's to low 90's. This is just a ball park figure but lets look at some contributing factors to teen pregnancy:

1. Most pregnant teens come from the poorer communities.

2. Most pregnant teens are not educated to begin with.

3. Most pregnant teens have a C or lower average.

4. Most pregnant teens have an IQ less than 100, the national average is 100.

So it was unlikely they would graduate anyways add to the mix a need to raise a child and the chances of them graduating drops even more.

*Please note I said MOST and not ALL
According to this site - http://www.youthnoise.com/page.php?page_鈥?/a>

so I would check that site for the actual legitimate resource information.
Hello, my name is Dick Woodcock Johnson. I am a parent of a black child. Black children differ very much from white children seeing as they do no have as much intelligence.

So yes, I agree with you.

it doesn't really say much about how many teens drop out because of being parents, but i'm shure that the percentage given, is not ALL teen parents.
no, but you can google it.
this is NOT a legitimate research forum
i think its around something like 80%, the # is pretty high
