Best guitar to buy on a teenage budget?

I wanna learn guitar.

I have $400 saved in the bank, and I am trying to start working for more.

I want a good quality guitar that I can buy within 6 months-1 year.

Any ideas?Best guitar to buy on a teenage budget?
Fender is good Idk about teenage budget though... Try a squier.

A strat is good for a lot of clean tones and mild rock tones. It is a lot brighter sounding than many guitars, has a tremolo (Whammy bar) and is a fairly popular model. A strat will also Hum.. Google 60 cycle hum from single coil if you dont know what I mean.

If not look at Epiphone Les Pauls...

They are designed for Rock n Roll... 2 humbuckers, a nice thick sound. Pure rock n roll all the way, but you can still play blues and cleans on it. It has humbuckers so it wont hum like a strat will.

Rondomusic.com has a bunch of really good lower priced guitars. I bought one of their $200 basses and it plays like a $500 instrument.. I'd recommend them..

Oh and I play live gigs... and get paid.. Take it from a pro musician you dont need a $1500 guitar. A $300-$500 guitar will do just fine and you dont have to cry when it gets dings and scratches. You can also afford more guitars this way lol... I have a small collection, they are all unique and sound great too.Best guitar to buy on a teenage budget?
$400 is a lot to spend on a guitar.

You can get a decent Yahmaha, make sure it is a solid top, non-folk, regular dreadnaught, for $2-300. Takamines at that price are also good. I don't like Epiphone's Ibanez or Seagulls. If you can get a solid wood top, back and sides, it would be good takinga look at. But I don't think you can get that for $400.

The less finish, the better it sounds.

Don't get a Fender acoustic unless you want to play rock. They sacrifice deep tone for more ability to play higher tones for leads and so on.

Don't get an Ovation.

I don't think you want to spend more than that until you buy a 'real' Martin, Taylor, etc... and the real solid wood (all around) Martin starts at $600.
well, first off, what's your style of music (acoustic guitar would obviously be for acoustic music, electrics for rock, blues, jazz or metal).

also, i hope you realise that with electric guitars you'd need an amp, lead, and some other accessories..

anyways, you should buy a guitar package. it should come with the guitar, some picks, a strap, probably a tuner, instructional dvd, a case and an amp (if you decide to buy an electric). guitar packs should cost around $400 or so, depending on the brand

i would recommend brands like Yamaha, Gibson, Takamine or Ibanez. you should go to this website http://www.musiciansfriend.com to see what other brands there are and see reviews for them..

you should also go to your local music store and ask them for advice..
If you really are willing to buy a qualtiy instrument. And you are dedicated enough to stick with it. I would recommend buying a Taylor acoustic/electric. For about $1500 you can get an excellent guitar. Like a 310ce.

If electric is your thing. If you can swing a $1000, for the guitar and $300 for an amp. I would suggest one of the new Charvel guitars. Really they are about the most bang for the buck. And I've played a couple and they are very nice.

Spend that $300 on a good sounding amp. Try to find a tube amp in your price range. You won't be sorry.

epiphone les paul. epiphone guitars are much better than squires for the money, although in a year, you could have enough for a fender made in mexico stratocaster, which is the most standard guitar in the world. if you have enough, go for the strat, but if not go for the epi les paul.
if your looking for acoustic, i have and recomend a yamaha acoustic, they're pretty easy to play and sound great. brand new would be $350 top, and used(fairly new) can be around 150-200

best idea is to go to guitar center, check it out personal,
ok... that friend who said fender isnt good... is lying. Get a fender stratocaster squier, which is a cheap copy of the really expensive ones, but looks the same and sounds the same. Its great! i love mine! Then when you start getting really good maybe buy a gibson...
What kind of music do you want to play? That information would help. Or if you're not sure of that, do you want an acoustic, an electric or an acoustic/electric? If acoustic, steel strings or classical?
