What were the fashions for teenage girls in the 80s?

My school is having an 80's day for our homecoming week, and we are supposed to dress up like they did in th 80s. Im kind of full figured and I have to wear something modest (no leggings, shorts, or short skirts). Thank you in advance! I also need ideas on how to do my hair. My hair is naturally curly and thick. Curly and thick hair? Perfect! Maybe try a deep part in your hair or a side ponytail tied with a ribbon or multiple scrunchies. Curly or crimped hair was very in during the 80s.

As for clothes, think bright colors, like neons. Or go for crazy patterns or shirts with space themes or dancing themes. If your school allows it, and if your comfortable with the idea, you could look for platform shoes, as those were very popular then.

You could also include ripped jeans or a blazer to go with the look.
Hi

I was born in the 80s.

The main big fashions were.. shell suits, big baggy tshirts, these tshirts that changed color in the heat (i had one they were really cool - see if you can find one on ebay!), neon colors, big plastic sun glasses, jelly shoes, leggings, and rara skirts, baggy clothing!! nothing tight or fitted.

You hair will be perfect big hair was in then. Wear it as big as you can get it all curly and wear a big thick material hairband. Or big bow in it.

Lots of bright colors. Big toussled hair. Here's a few pictures.

Simply put, Big hair, Bright clothes.

my school always does that too!!

Try watching one of the old episodes of Full House and see how DJ dresses.

Anyway, try BRIGHT clothes and makeup.

Hair: side pony, headband (going around the head and forehead)

Bottoms: leggings! mini skirt

Top: Bulky sweatshirt

wait, since when were leggings not modest?

Then wear ripped jeans...
its good that your hair is curly and thick, because they had volumized hair in the 80s. let it go wild and put it up in a side pony tail with a neon headband. cut up a neon shirt for an off the shoulder look, but to keep it modest wear a tank top underneath. wear skinny jeans and put legwarmers over them. good luck!
u can get some skinny jeans, a pair of old school adidas sneakers, and an adidas hoodie..wit door knocker earrings, and a big gold rope chain...or u can get a nike or adidas track suit...but wear the accessories..it will set ya outfit off...o and wear ya hair out...and u can wear colorful things wit different patterns
with your hair if it is already curly just make it big!!! and they wore leggings right above the knee and remember BRIGHT colors
in the 80s people sewed their clothes together and made them look different and cool. I usually do that on a regular basis
big poofy hair, scrunchies, high side pontails [poofy] bright tights and big poofy skirts
neon colors big sweaters or shirts that let one shouder should be bare high side ponytail
