What is a teenage girl supposed to wear to a catholic church?

i am a 15 year old girl and am going to church with a friend. i have asked around and everyone just says wear a dress or a skirt and nice top, but could anyone be more specific please? What kind of skirt and what qualifies as a nice top? it would be GREATLY appreciated if you could post pictures of things to wear. By the way its not a real casual church, i'm planning on some kind of dress or skirt. What is a teenage girl supposed to wear to a catholic church?
lol good luck. Sunday best varies per church. I know, but it sucks. My advice is just dress very nicely but in layers. That way, if you are over dressed, you can layer down. I am a guy, and as a guy its a little easier, but i have still be caught out, wearing a suit to a church where eveyrone is in jeans, and wearing jeans when everyone is in suits lol. What is a teenage girl supposed to wear to a catholic church?
Simply stated, wear something that is not dirty, ripped or torn. Any kind of skirt that at least goes down to the knees (mini-skirts are frowned upon in church). Doesn't matter what it's made from or what it looks like as long as you like it and is considered ';appropriate'; for church....same with the top.

You can also wear casual slacks, ';pedal pushers';, and some people even wear jeans. The whole idea is for you to look presentable. Pretend you are going to a fancy party and dress accordingly.

Good luck.
I would agree with what some say here:

Catechism of the Catholic Church says:

1387

To prepare for worthy reception of this sacrament, the faithful should observe the fast required in their Church. Bodily demeanor (gestures, clothing) ought to convey the respect, solemnity, and joy of this moment when Christ becomes our guest.

My basic view:

would you wear that to go see the President? God is a bit more important than the President. Dress up. Don't wear flip-flops, revealing clothes, t-shirts, etc...

So a nice skirt/dress that is modest and nice. Something at least a little formal.
Dress/skirt to the knees or slightly above (NOT mid-thigh).

Top should have sleeves of some kind -- no strapless or spaghetti strap things. Nothing plunging down the front. Reasonable neckline.

No skin showing except legs, arms/hands, neck and face.

NOTHING should be so tight that ever stitch on your undies shows through.

You shouldn't need a photo if you just follow these guidelines.
Wear nothing that deliberately draws attention TO you.

You don't have to dress like an Amish girl, but just keep covered up and dressed comfortably.
Dress, or dress pants with a blouse.

Anything that is presentable.

It shouldn't expose cleavage.

Simply modest.

No jeans, no t-shirts.

I wear a poet blouse and and black pants with heels because I personally hate wearing dresses.
Thong and mesh, with a furry over coat, and boots/or flip flops.

Oh, maybe a toe ring or two. That would look pretty.

You could add a nice hat as well, completely harmless.

Oops, I mean, whatever you feel comfortable in. :)
Modest ';Sunday best'; is traditional for those who wish to show respect. As long as you are modest (i.e., not attracting more attention to your body), and dress conservatively (that is, not attracting attention to your clothing), and are clean and neat (not sloppy), you should be fine.
Modest dress is what they mean.

So a long skirt and not a low cup neck top. Don't show to much flesh. Although short sleeves would be ok.

Preferably in somber colours so blacks, greys, browns, dark blues.
Something down to at least your knees that is not too tight, and a top w/o a plunging neckline. No flip-flops and no midriffs showing. Think how you would dress for a day wedding.
You should dress modestly, which means a dress or skirt at least knee level or longer and a dress or top that shows no cleavage. Also wear some pretty sandals and not flip flops.
Ware anything you want. the priests only go after the little boys.
a nice top would be anything not too tight or revealing in anyway (sheer, cut off etc.) no tshirts so maybe a a button down or nice pullover. Same goes for the skirt - nothing too tight, ripped and knee length at least.
Don't show cleavage and Nothing too short.(when you sit down, if your skirt goes higher then a hand width above your knees. Its going to be considered too short.) Hope this helps
don't wear jeans or something so short. make sure you don't show any cleavage. wear a nice skirt or walking shorts.
Nothing
Dressing like Goth, would sure to raise eyebrows.
wear slayer or cannibal corpse shirt and some ripped up jeans and pair of converse or vans.that should do it
anything comfortable that isn't disgraceful in public
nothing
I am sure anything that doesnt show a lot of leg or breast is fine.
