How many words, approximately, are in an average teenage novel, such as the Clique or Gossip Girl?

I've been wondering how many words are in a book like Revenge of the Wannabes, or Invasion of the Boysnatchers, or one of the Gossip Girl books. Anybody know?How many words, approximately, are in an average teenage novel, such as the Clique or Gossip Girl?
A YA novel is generally over 60,000 words. I've read somewhere that the average number of words per page is 200.





My YA novel (due out in the spring) is just over 68,000 words, or approximately 260 typed, double spaced pages.





Some are longer, though. Pick up one of the books, and multiply the number of pages by 200, and that should give you a rough estimate of the number of words.
